2.1.11 Album Spotlight: PANIC MARRIAGE EP
Panic Marriage EP, the second collaboration between producer Andrea Carax and singer/songwriter
Amanda Halsey is a concept album detailing the perils of a fictional relationship gone bad.
"It started out as a modern-R&B record. Andrea sent me all these contemporary instrumentals and I
composed the melodies and choruses to what I was hearing, which is straight-forward, sophisticated
R&B. However, I am not that sophisticated and I wound up writing Pop/R&B records with a mini-storyline,
sometimes funny and sometimes dramatic," explains Amanda Halsey. Divorce, it seems, was on the mind
of the songwriter...or was it marriage? "I am not anti-marriage. I was just expressing what I was seeing
around me at the time and that was certain people of a certain age using marriage as a tool to social
acceptance or financial security rather than building a strong bond. In the end, you may have someone to
eat dinner with, but is it at the expense of your dreams and happiness?"
Well, here's hoping that Panic Marriage EP answers that question and serves up more musical magic
between songwriting partners Andrea Carax and Amanda Halsey. Download it today at participating
